Mumbai Offshore Basin, near block MB-OSN-2005/2
Contract area has two fields, viz: B-9, a gas field and BRC, a predominantly oil field. Three exploratory wells drilled in the B-9 field has encountered gas in Daman formation. Encouraging results prompted AWEL to drill one appraisal-cum-development well in B-9 field in 2021; target reservoir successfully encountered.

ONGC is the Operator of this JV Block (PI-50%). AWEL has a 25% PI and IOCL holds 25% PI.
