An infrastructure developer with a difference, Welspun Enterprises Limited (WEL) is at the forefront of empowering India with essential road and water assets and creating value for a spectrum of stakeholders. With a strong balance sheet, good credit ratings and an asset-light strategy, WEL concentrates on high-value added project management, ensuring the quality, safety and timely completion of its projects and within budget.
We have successfully completed the prestigious Delhi–Meerut Expressway project 11 months ahead of schedule and are currently constructing the widest extradosed bridge on Ganga River. In a landmark agreement in 2022, we monetized six of its completed road assets for over Rs. 9,000 crore, in line with the goal of generating sustainable value-accretive growth for our stakeholders.
In the Water and Wastewater sector, we are actively involved in three major projects: a rural water supply initiative in Uttar Pradesh as part of the Government of India's Jal Jeevan Mission, aimed at providing 6.5 lakh households with access to clean drinking water; a 418 MLD Wastewater Treatment Facility in Dharavi, Mumbai, notable for being India's first multi-storey wastewater treatment facility; and a 2,000 MLD Water Treatment Plant at the Bhandup Complex in Mumbai, which stands as one of the world's largest by capacity. In 2023, WEL acquired 50.1% stake in Welspun Michigan Engineers Limited (formerly known as Michigan Engineers Private Limited), a trenchless technology-based EPC company in the urban water infrastructure segment, to expand into the niche and promising areas of micro tunnelling, segment tunnelling, sewer network rehabilitation and other trenchless technologies across India.
WEL also has investments in the upstream oil & gas business through a Joint Venture company, Adani Welspun Exploration Limited (AWEL), in line with Government’s mission of transitioning to towards a gas-based economy.
With ESG at the core, WEL is committed to sustainable business operations across its projects and functions.
